Sigma Alpha
Our Story:
​At Sigma Alpha, we’re more than just a professional agricultural sorority—we’re a supportive community focused on scholarship, leadership, service, and sisterhood. Founded in 1978 at Ohio State University by five visionary women, we set out to create an alternative to traditional Greek life. The Alpha Mu chapter here at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign was established in 2000.

Today, we’re proud to be part of a national network of over 80 chapters!

We support our members in all areas of agriculture while building strong friendships. We motivate each other to excel in academics, take on leadership roles, and engage in service, ultimately setting our members up for successful careers in agriculture.
